Two members of Kosciuszko Heritage have met with a representative from Poland’s National Archives.

Ernestyna Skurjat-Kozek, the President of Kosciuszko Heritage, and her husband, Andrzej Kozek, met with the historian and archivist Paweł Pietrzyk.

Public release of new film

The new film produced by Kosciuszko Heritage, P. E. de Strzelecki’s Humanitarian Deeds in Ireland, has been officially publicly released.

Produced by Felix Molski, Ernestyna Skurjat-Kozek, John Molski, Andrzej Kozek and Lukasz Swiatek, the film was distributed on Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th of August, at the 2013 International Commemoration of the Irish Hunger held at the Hyde Park Barracks in Sydney.

Magazine insights shared with young leaders

Lukasz Swiatek, a Kosciuszko Heritage committee member, has presented Kultura Connect magazine to a group of young people at the Community Relations Commission Youth Leaders Day Symposium.

Committee member Felix Molski has been interviewed by the Irish filmmaker Russ Ryan.

Russ contacted Kosciuszko Heritage at the end of June to find out more about Sir Paul Edmund Strzelecki, whose life-story had captivated him. He was particularly intrigued by Strzelecki’s humanitarian activities during the Great Famine in Ireland, including in the filmmaker’s home town of Ballina.

The Patron of Kosciuszko Heritage, Lech Paszkowski, passed away yesterday. Lech was officially appointed Patron in October 2011.

He was an esteemed member of the Polish community in Australia. A writer, historian, community worker and journalist, he was the author of many highly regarded works about migrant life in Australia and famous Polish individuals.…
