Meeting with National Archives Director

Kosciuszko Heritage has organised a dinner with Prof. Wladyslaw Stepniak, the Director of the Chief National Archives (Naczelne Archiwa Państwowe) in Poland and a Member of UNESCO’s World Memory body.

Committee members Andrzej Kozek, Ursula Lang and Ernestyna Skurjat-Kozek attended the dinner, along with Adam Baniecki from the National Archives in Wroclaw.

Festival on government tourist website

The 2013 Kosciuszko festival has been added to the events section of the VisitNSW website.

VisitNSW is described as “the official tourism site for Destination New South Wales, a department of NSW Government”. The listing means that the festival has the potential to reach many new prospective participants, as the website attracts over 7 million visits a year.

Next year’s Kosciuszko festival will celebrate the centenary of the first Mass on Mount Kosciuszko.

Compliments from the Polish General Council President

The work of Kosciuszko Heritage was praised at the 44th Congress of the General Council of the Polish Community of Australia, on June 2, 2012.

The president of the General Council, Janusz Rygielski, commended Kosciuszko Heritage for its efforts in building bridges between different multicultural communities in Australia, especially between the Aboriginal and Polish communities.

Felix Molski, a member of Kosciuszko Heritage, has met two American cultural figures connected with Kosciuszko: Roy Eaton and Alex Storozynski.

At a literary meeting with Alex Storozynski, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of the book The Peasant Prince: Thaddeus Kosciuszko and the Age of Revolution, Felix discussed the activities of Kosciuszko Heritage with Roy Eaton, an American pianist, composer and producer.

Sir P. E. Strzelecki was the focus of the newspaper’s article, which highlighted the publication of the new monograph The Best of Human Nature: Strzelecki’s Humanitarian Work in Ireland, published by Kosciuszko Heritage and launched at the Over the Moonbah festival.

Strzelecki Speech

The remarkable deeds of Sir Paul Edmund de Strzelecki have been presented to the Great Irish Famine Commemoration Committee.

Felix Molski – one of the committee members of Kosciuszko Heritage, and the author of the new monograph The Best of Human Nature: Strzelecki’s Humanitarian Work in Ireland, which will be released during the Over the Moonbah festival in April – presented the book’s findings at the Commemoration Committee’s Annual General Meeting in Sydney, on February 13.

The website for this year’s Over the Moonbah festival has been launched. The site contains a wealth of information about the two-day events, which will take place from April 14-15.

A freshly updated program has also been published and is available in Polish and English, as well as in plain-text and PDF forms.
