The patron of Kosciuszko Heritage is Richard Broinowski.
Currently the NSW President of the Australian Institute of International Affairs, Richard was previously a long-time Australian diplomat.
After joining the Department of External Affairs in 1963, he served in Tokyo, Rangoon, Teheran, Manilla, Vietnam and Korea, in various diplomatic posts. In 1990, he became the general manager of Radio Australia. After retiring in 1997, he was invited to become an adjunct professor, first at the University of Canberra and then at the University of Sydney.
In addition to publishing numerous articles on foreign affairs, he is the author of three books: A Witness to History: The Life and Times of Robert Broinowski (MUP 2001), Fact or Fission: The Truth about Australia’s Nuclear Ambitions (Scribe 2003), and Driven: A Diplomat’s Auto-biography (ABC/HarperCollins 2009).
Richard was installed as Kosciuszko Heritage’s patron on October 6, 2016, at Parliament House in Sydney, in a short ceremony during the gala premiere of the English-language version of the film Kosciuszko: Poland Will Yet Dance.
Former patron Kosciuszko Heritage was Lech Paszkowski.
