Two Kosciuszko Heritage committee members have made interesting musical discoveries relating to Kosciuszko in the National Library of Australia.
Felix Molski has found the score to Dawn on Kosciuszko Waltz, a musical piece composed by F. W. Tidd that extols sunrise over Mount Kosciuszko.
Ernestyna Skurjat-Kozek has discovered a waltz simply titled Kosciusko by Stephen Polotynski.
“Perhaps Polotynski is well-known to the Polish Community in Brisbane,” says Ernestyna. “If not, then it may be worthwhile bringing him back from oblivion and presenting his music at Polart Brisbane 2018. It should also not be forgotten for the events planned for the Year of Kosciuszko.”
