Paul Edmund de Strzelecki got an international recognition and fame as a discoverer and researcher who also named the highest peak of Australia after an international Democracy, Equal Rights and Freedom fighter, Gen. Tadeusz Kosciuszko.
In 1847, Paul Edmund de Strzelecki arrived in Ireland as a volunteer at a time when millions were dying of starvation and disease. Strzelecki’s innovative scheme in helping the Irish people was an astonishing success. It was instrumental in saving over 200,000 children from starvation. Yet his deeds have been largely forgotten or ignored by history.
