The Chair of Kosciuszko Heritage, Ernestyna Skurjat-Kozek, and her husband and committee member Andrzej Kozek have travelled to Jindabybe to take part in NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee) celebrations. The trip was an excellent opportunity to strengthen ties with the Ngarigo Aboriginal communities in the Snowy Mountains region.
The pair discussed issues relating to Polish-Australian-Aboriginal relations and the Kosciuszko Festivals with key members of local groups, including Aunty Rae, Aunty Deanne, Peter Swain from the NSW Parks and Wildlife Services, Bob Young from the Jindabyne Aeroclub, and mayor John Cahill.
Included in the celebrations were official speeches, songs and dances.
