On a rainy day, 15th of May 2023 the guests from Australia, numerous VIPs and the local community gathered in a historic Bamber barn for an evening function. A series of speeches was followed by a traditional Polish custom of welcoming guests with bread and salt. Gifts inluding Strzelecki’s framed Birth Certificate were presented.

Song and Dance “Wielkopolska” Ensemble performed traditional folk dances inviting First Nation delegates to join them on stage. It was a wonderful (“deadly” as Uncle John described it) dance to be remembered by all for a long time. After a performance of the Djinama Yiliga Choir guests were invited to a dinner “czym chata bogata”.
