The Kosciuszko festivals were Kosciuszko Heritage’s flagship events. Held annually since 2006, they celebrated multiculturalism, history and harmony in the Snowy Mountains area. The festivals ended in 2013.
The festivals were centred on Australia’s highest mainland mountain, Mount Kosciuszko, which was discovered and named by the explorer and humanitarian Sir Paul Edmund Strzelecki after General Thaddeus Kosciuszko, a renowned champion of equal rights and liberty for all of humankind.
