Objectives

Kosciuszko Heritage has six principal objectives and goals. They are:

The promotion of the contribution made by local and international leaders, particularly Sir Paul de Strzelecki and General Tadeusz Kosciuszko, whose name is borne by the highest peak of Australia, Mt Kosciuszko;

The organisation of cultural events to be held in Jindabyne, Cooma, and other suitable locations;

The production of radio, press and internet publications, as well as video documentaries, promoting the heroes and the events;

About the logo

The Kosciuszko Heritage logo features a compass with arrows in the shape of a star .

The compass is a symbol that stands for direction, purpose, moral guidance and discovery. Kosciuszko Heritage’s vision is built on ideas; the organisation’s actions, like the compass, are real.

Richard Broinowski

The patron of Kosciuszko Heritage is Richard Broinowski.

Currently the NSW President of the Australian Institute of International Affairs, Richard was previously a long-time Australian diplomat.

After joining the Department of External Affairs in 1963, he served in Tokyo, Rangoon, Teheran, Manilla, Vietnam and Korea, in various diplomatic posts.…

Lech Paszkowski (1919-2013) – former patron

Lech Paszkowski (1919-2013) was a highly regarded member of the Polish community of Australia and the patron of Kosciuszko Heritage from 2011-2013.

A writer, historian and journalist, Lech was the author of many works about migrant life in Australia and famous Polish individuals, such as Tadeusz Kosciuszko (after whom Mount Kosciuszko is named) and Sir Paul Edmund Strzelecki (the explorer who named Mount Kosciuszko).…
